AUDITS

EnCompass can not only create strategy and train your staff, but can conduct full, professional trip audits for you to comply with the UK Package Travel Regulations 2018 and/or implement your practical accessibility for you.

We have two options for trip auditing.

The first makes sure you are complying with the new Package Travel Regulations 2018. It collects your access information in a comprehensive and holistic way to cover all of the most common impairments, avoiding risk of litigation.

The second not only collects the required information but creates an accessibility strategy for that trip, giving you a plan to make your trip accessible using our knowledge of portable accessibility aids, alternative options and less technological alternatives to create a full package.

Option 1

INFORMATION AUDIT

This on site accessibility audit assesses current accessibility for the four main physical impairments:

  • Mobility (3 different levels assessed)

  • Dexterity, fatigue and stamina

  • Deafness

  • Visual impairments.

(Mental health, cognitive and intellectual impairments are covered as part of our separate disability awareness training).

THIS AUDIT COVERS

BUILDINGS. Comparison with minimum best practice from International Standards Organisations (ISO).

TRANSPORT AND ACTIVITIES. The audit also covers an assessment of existing transport and activities including:

  • Vans, buses, boats, planes and public transport

  • Road, track and pavement quality

  • Adventure activities such as bungee jumping, sailing, hiking and diving

DISABILITY AWARENESS. The audit further assesses staff training needs in disability awareness and accessibility aid training.

OUTCOMES

By the end of the audit you will have the information required for the Package Travel regulations 2018 for a variety of impairments and a 'customer trip guide' for your sales and marketing, outlining the general obstacles and accessibility so that the customer can decide if this trip is right for them. Please note that this audit does not cover the Equality Act 2010 and does not cover advice and solutions to make your trip accessible.

OPTIONAL EXTRAS

  1. Video and photographic footage of the trip highlighting that your trip can be accessible.

  2. Positive social media both as the audit is in progress and after, for your own use but also posted on EnCompass pages as well as given to other disability focused travel sites and disability pages for maximum exposure.

  3. Head office/alternative venue presentation of results and findings.

Option 2

FULL ACCESSIBILITY AUDIT

This on site accessibility audit assesses and finds solutions (wherever possible) for the four main physical impairments:

  • Mobility (3 different levels assessed)

  • Dexterity, fatigue and stamina

  • Deafness

  • Visual impairments.

(Mental health, cognitive and intellectual impairments are also covered as part of our separate disability awareness training).

THIS AUDIT COVERS

BUILDINGS. Comparison with minimum best practice from the International Standards Organisation (ISO). EnCompass is aware that many buildings (including hotels, museums, places of religious worship and shops) do not follow accessibility standards so we independently test them using portable mobility and accessibility aids or other alternatives to inbuilt accessibility where necessary.

TRANSPORT AND ACTIVITIES. The audit also covers solutions to making existing transport and activities as accessible as possible with solutions to overcoming perceived barriers in:

  • Vans, buses, boats, planes and public transport

  • Road, track and pavement quality

  • Adventure activities such as bungee jumping, sailing, hiking and diving

DISABILITY AWARENESS. The audit further assesses staff training needs in disability awareness and accessibility aid training.

OUTCOMES

By the end of the Audit you will have the information and all available solutions identified to open up your trip to the disabled market. Included is:

  1. A full audit including all possible solutions to create accessibility to Equality Act 2010 standards.

  2. A 'customer trip guide' for your sales and marketing complying with Package Travel regulations 2018, outlining the general obstacles and solutions used so that the customer can decide if this trip is right for them.

  3. On site basic accessibility training for tour guides, staff, porters etc.

  4. A fully costed plan of accessibility aids and staff training needed to implement full accessibility for the trip.
